PRESENTATION TOPIC
FLOOD ASSESSMENT AND MITIGATION
Flood is the most frequently occurring natural disaster globally and it was the costliest natural hazard in 2016 for the fourth consecutive year in terms of global economic losses. FM Global will provide an overview of flood assessment including understanding flood maps, types of flood exposure and flood assessment methodology. Flood mitigation through development of flood emergency response plans and installation of various flood abatement equipment will be reviewed along with specific examples of actions taken by FM Global clients in order to mitigate their flood risk. FM Global will also share information on their new Global Flood Map.
